The Illustration Technique

A method of presenting a sequence of pictures or 'frames' that depict actions involved in a task without the use of words. It has been developed over a number of years involving a large number of non-literate women farmers in West Africa.

Only very simple tasks can be represented and must be carefully field tested with the user-group to ensure that they are understood.

Some basic illustration skills are needed and the ability to work at field-level to test and develop the illustrations as a set of line drawings.
